Revolutionary new technology to assess the risk of a serious heart condition or heart attack – many years before anything happens.
This is your guide to private orthopaedic treatment at HCA UK. Here you can find out more about our service and the care you’ll receive should you decide to choose us for your treatment.
When you’re looking to fast-track your treatment, we’re here for you with next-working-day confirmation for consultant appointments. Alternatively, if you know which consultant you’d like to see, let us know and we can check availability or you can book online using our consultant finder, and get instant confirmation. Plus, wherever possible – and when required – we’ll organise your imaging or diagnostic tests on the same day as your consultation to save you time and make the whole process as easy as possible.
Our consultants provide non-surgical and surgical treatments in 10 specialist orthopaedic fields. Find out more about the orthopaedic specialist services we offer.
An accurate diagnosis requires access to the latest imaging and scans. We have over 20 locations with the latest technology including low-radiation X-ray scanner for children.
To ensure the highest standard of care, our consultants are supported by state-of-the-art facilities and expert teams including ITUs and orthopaedic nurses and radiologists.
In order to stay at the forefront of orthopaedic care, our teams continue to develop innovative surgical and non-surgical techniques. We continually monitor and evaluate both our performance and our patients’ outcomes, tracking our patients’ experience through our satisfaction surveys. This allows us to evaluate our performance against other private healthcare providers in the UK.
We’re always looking to improve our care and each year, we survey our patients. For 2023, 97% of them rated us ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’ for quality of care, while 99% are likely to recommend us to family or friends.
The Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) is an independent organisation that publishes performance about private hospitals, and we are no.1 in London for private orthopaedic care (Jan 23-Dec 23).
Over 2,000 patients come to us each year for their joint replacements. In 2023 we performed 1,200 hip replacements. The National Joint Registry (NJR) place our consultants in the top 1% for revision rates for hip replacements.
Whether we’re investing in the latest medical equipment, or supporting consultants with their innovative, minimally invasive techniques, we’re focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for your treatment.
This starts with diagnostic imaging tests. At The Portland Hospital, we now offer advanced, state-of-the-art low-dose radiation X-ray scanning, particularly suitable for children with musculoskeletal conditions.
In addition, our orthopaedic and spinal consultants also have access to robotically assisted surgery tools (the Mako robotic arm and Globus spinal robot) which help to deliver more precision and promote faster recovery in joint replacement procedures.
We see patients who are self-funding their treatment as well as those with medical policies. We work with all the major private insurers, for example Bupa, AXA and many more. If you’re paying for your own treatment and are considering hip or knee replacement surgery, we offer fixed-price packages, to help with budgeting.
You can call or book online via our consultant directory. You’ll need to have your referral letter to hand, as well as your insurance member number and authorisation code if you have medical insurance. We aim to confirm all orthopaedic consultant appointments straight away. If we aren’t able to confirm there and then, we’ll contact you either by phone or email within 24 hours.
