Orthopaedic imaging

We offer the full range of diagnostic imaging in over 20 locations. Scans can be arranged for the same day as your consultant appointment and all images are reported on by a musculoskeletal radiologist.

Types of orthopaedic imaging

MRI scan

Our consultant radiologists use some of the most technologically advanced MRI scanners to provide accurate examinations of the inside of your body.

CT scan

Computed tomography (CT) scan is sometimes referred to as a CAT scan and shows detailed 2D and 3D images of your organs, blood vessels and bones.

Bone Density (DEXA) scan

A DEXA or bone densitometry scan measures the density and strength of your bones, and is used to diagnose or assess your risk of osteoporosis.

Ultrasound scan

An ultrasound scan is a common scan that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of organs, tissue or blood flow inside the body.

Discography

Discography helps determine the nature of your back pain by injecting dye into the affected disc for review on X-ray.

MR arthrogram

An MRI with dye injection, this test is used to help detect any problems with your joint and is most commonly used to look inside the hip. It can also be used for the shoulder, knee or wrist.

How to book an appointment

Book your appointment

Booking an appointment with us couldn't be easier. You can call, or book using our online consultant directory.

If your treatment is going to be covered by private medical insurance, we'll need your insurance member number and authorisation code, so you'll need to have them to hand along with your referral letter.

We'll do everything we can to confirm your consultation there and then but, if that's not possible, we'll get back to you with a phone call or email within 24 hours.
