Our Quality Commitment
Making high levels of quality in healthcare the standard. Read some of the findings from our latest CQC inspections
Delivering private healthcare as it should be
Delivering world class healthcare is complex. We know what we do best and we know our limitations. We partner with others whose expertise complements ours to jointly deliver world class care.
HCA Healthcare UK is one of the leading private healthcare providers in the UK, and we continually work on improving our services, and providing patients with the high quality, one-to-one care they value. Our high clinical standards are a given, but it is the care we give that means 98% of patients recommend HCA UK*.
HCA UK patients can be confident we provide a quality and depth of service that no one else can.

Patient Safety: Our Patient Safety Incident Response Plan
Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) is a national initiative designed to improve patient safety and outlines how healthcare providers should respond to patient safety incidents.
We are pleased to share our Patient Safety Incident Response Plan (PSIRP) which sets out how we will learn from patient safety incidents. This will help us to continually improve the quality and safety of the care we provide, as well as the experience which patients, families and carers have when using our services. Our plan is not a permanent one that cannot be changed, and we will remain flexible and always consider the specific circumstances in which patient safety issues/incidents occur and the needs of those affected.

1. Monitoring standards of care
"We are constantly monitoring what we do, to make sure that our standards are as high as possible, and to identify whether anything needs changing." Dr Tom Newsom-Davis, Consultant Oncologist at Leaders in Oncology Care
2. Sharing our knowledge
In private practice, we can often use new drugs before they are "available on the NHS. This is why we do informative audits as part of clinical governance work, which involves sharing our experience of these drugs, their side-effects and results with other health professionals so that they can benefit from our work to help their patients." Dr Alison Jones, Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Wellington Hospital and Leaders in Oncology Care.
3. High quality staff and training
"All our junior doctors are working or have worked recently in NHS teaching hospitals and it is very important that they bring with them the gold standard clinical practices in the NHS." Dr Andy Petros, Consultant Paediatric Intensivist and Director of Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at The Portland Hospital.
4. Being prepared for every eventuality
Making sure there are always doctors available in every specialism should a patient take a turn for the worse or develop complications is a key part of patient safety." Mr Arjun Shankar, Consultant General Surgeon and Medical Director of The Lister Hospital
5. Taking action to safeguard patients
"It’s about having an early warning system in place so that we can constantly monitor what is happening and step in to make sure the highest standards of care are provided." Dr Phillip Harrison, Consultant Liver Specialist, London Bridge Hospital
6. Working as a team to provide the right treatment with the best outcomes
No other UK provider can match our global scale, breadth and depth of knowledge and expertise. We treat 27 million people each year across our global network, and we learn from each and every one, so that we can deliver world-class outcomes to each patient that we care for
