About paediatric cardiology

Our paediatric cardiology services care for children with conditions affecting the heart’s walls, heart valves and blood vessels. We perform complex operations to save the lives of premature babies and correct heart defects in infants and children. Our paediatric cardiac specialists include some of the world's leading consultants in their field.

The Portland Hospital is the only independent hospital in the UK specialising in paediatric congenital heart treatments, while The Harley Street Clinic can offer highly-specialised, low-dose radiation scans for paediatric patients with congenital heart conditions.

Our aim is to create an environment where you and your child feel happy and relaxed, and where you can be confident that your child is receiving the very best medical care and attention. The Portland Hospital has a dedicated unit for the care of babies and children with heart disease, fully supported by advanced diagnostics, catheter and electrophysiology laboratories, operating theatres and a paediatric intensive care unit (PICU).

The Harley Street Clinic, London Bridge Hospital and The Wellington Hospital treat adults with congenital heart conditions, which means that we can offer paediatric patients seamless, integrated care as they progress from childhood into adulthood, receiving support throughout their lives from a team of experts familiar with their personal needs.
