Who will be in the MDT?
Depending on which cancer you have been diagnosed with, your MDT team may include:
At HCA Healthcare UK we are dedicated to providing you with the highest standard of care, from the very first moment we meet.
The depth and breadth of our expertise means we are in a unique position to draw on the knowledge of some of the most experienced cancer specialists in the world.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Teams bring together multiple healthcare professionals, with different areas of medical expertise, to provide the latest and most effective treatment options across all cancer types, including rare and difficult to treat cancers.
Delivering exceptional cancer treatment and care requires a co-ordinated team approach. Your named consultant will discuss your diagnosis with a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) of cancer experts, whose goal will be to ensure that all treatment options are fully considered, and that you receive the very best treatment recommendation and personalised care plan.
Our MDTs include surgeons, consultant oncologists, consultant haematologists, reconstructive surgeons, radiologists, radiographers, pathologists, pharmacists, clinical nurse specialists, occupational therapists and many other healthcare professionals.
So, while your chosen consultant will personally oversee every aspect of your treatment, ensuring you have the continuity and reassurance of consultant-led care, you can be assured you have the expertise and support of a whole team of cancer experts.

When the MDT discuss your diagnosis and make a recommendation on treatment and care plan, they do this with the whole picture in mind, taking into account both your cancer and you as an individual.

You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions, and you have any concerns they can discuss these with you.
