Obstetrics
What is obstetrics?
Obstetrics is a medical specialty focused on caring for expectant mothers before, during and after childbirth.
As the only fully private maternity hospital in the UK, The Portland Hospital is dedicated to the safety and wellbeing of mothers-to-be. Our experienced consultant obstetricians work alongside a dedicated team of midwives, sonographers and specialist nurses to support and advise you throughout your pregnancy and beyond.
We'll provide personalised antenatal care as your baby develops and help you make key decisions about how you'd like to give birth. Our maternity service is complemented by the expertise of our paediatric facilities and on-site intensive care unit.
We also provide a range of antenatal and postnatal classes for women and their partners, as well as exercise classes such as pregnancy yoga to help you maintain general fitness and prepare your body for having a baby.
