Mr. Zubeir Ali is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. He is the Kidney Stone and Endourology Lead at this renowned institution where he has been a consultant for 10 years. He undertook his undergraduate medical degrees at UCL and University of Glasgow. His postgraduate specialist training was in North West Deanery, where he gained extensive experience in all urological conditions. To further his subspecialist credentials, Mr. Ali completed a post-CCT fellowship to underscore his expertise in Kidney Stone Surgery and Complex Endourology, .
As a high volume kidney stone surgeon, Mr. Ali is highly specialised in the field. He performs all aspects of kidney stone treatment including shockwave lithotripsy, ureteroscopy with laser, and PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy) including miniaturised PCNL. He is independent at establishing PCNL tract access. Mr. Ali also operates in collaboration with colleagues for the highly complex cases that benefit from robotic surgery using the Da Vinci Xi robotic system. He runs a specialist Metabolic Kidney Stone Clinic focussing on reducing kidney stone recurrence. In addition, Mr. Ali is highly skilled in general urology, providing an emergency on-call service in a tertiary teaching hospital.
Mr. Ali has always been very enthusiastic about teaching and training. He is the Education Lead for Urology at The Royal London Hospital. Furthermore, he is on the Faculty for subspecialist training courses; he has been invited to teach and lecture on complex surgical techniques both internationally and in the UK. Mr. Ali maintains his academic background with presentations and publications in international meetings and peer reviewed journals.
