Wedad Abdelrahman

Dr Wedad Abdelrahman is a Consultant Dermatologist with particular expertise in paediatric and medical dermatology. She graduated with an MB BCh from Queen’s University of Belfast in 2010 and later completed an MSc in Clinical Education at the same institution, and undertook her four-year dermatology specialty training programme in Northern Ireland.

She has undertook two prestigious subspecialty fellowships. The first in medical dermatology at the internationally recognised St John’s Institute of Dermatology within Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust with a focus on complex inflammatory and immunobullous skin diseases. 

The second in specialising in laser working alongside plastic surgeons at one of the UK’s leading burns and plastic surgery centres in Swansea, becoming only the second dermatologist in the UK to complete this programme.

Her clinical work has included specialist clinics in immunobullous disorders, hidradenitis suppurativa and epidermolysis bullosa. Actively engaged in research and education, she has published nationally and internationally, served as national chief investigator for a paediatric psoriasis trial, and now contributes to global clinical research in her role as Associate Medical Director.
