Dr Samah Alimam is an experienced and highly regarded Consultant Haematologist based at University College Hospital, where she leads the Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) and Transfusion Medicine services. She provides expert care across a broad spectrum of haematological conditions and is recognised for her clinical excellence and compassionate, patient-focused approach.
She completed her specialist haematology training in London and Manchester, gaining experience at several of the UK’s leading medical centres. Dr Alimam manages patients with a wide range of blood-related conditions, including iron deficiency, anaemia, abnormal blood counts and symptoms such as unexplained fatigue or bruising. She also assesses patients presenting with lymph node enlargement or other concerns that may indicate underlying haematological disorders.
Her expertise spans both general (benign) haematology and malignant haematology, including the diagnosis and management of complex blood disorders and haematological cancers. She has a particular interest in myeloid malignancies and is committed to delivering personalised, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s circumstances.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Alimam is actively involved in research and academic activity. She leads and collaborates on clinical studies focused on improving outcomes for patients with blood cancers and advancing transfusion practices. Her research interests include novel therapies for myeloid malignancies and innovation in transfusion medicine.
