Dr. Richard Antbring is a highly skilled and experienced Sport & Exercise Medicine consultant that has a breadth of experience in managing musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, and exercise-related medical issues. He has extensive experience of working closely within multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic, tailored care to all individuals and help them return to physical activity or sport.
Richard specialises in using non-surgical techniques to rehabilitate patients from injury. He is highly motivated to give an accurate diagnosis through thorough assessment and clear communication. He also provides ultrasound during the consultation if necessary and will be able to arrange MRI or CT scans to aid diagnosis. Richard will help you understand the diagnosis and how we can manage it together in the most efficient way. Believing strongly that the key to recovery is a structured and tailored rehabilitation plan, he will work closely with healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches and podiatrists to empower you towards returning to activity.
Richard has worked extensively in elite sports environments, including football and tennis. He has provided medical care for West Ham and Fulham Academy, focusing on youth football and contributing to the optimal health and performance of athletes. Richard has also served as a doctor for the Lawn Tennis Association, offering his expertise in musculoskeletal care to wheelchair tennis players. Richard is enthusiastic about high-intensity sports and activities such as HYROX, HIIT, and CrossFit, as well as weightlifting, bringing his expertise to athletes engaged in these demanding activities.
Richard graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and completed his specialist training in Sport & Exercise Medicine within the highly competitive London Deanery, developing a strong foundation in musculoskeletal medicine and sports injuries. He has undertaken a Masters in Sport & Exercise Medicine and a Postgraduate certificate in musculoskeletal ultrasound, completing both with distinction
