Mr Ran Wei is a consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon with a sub-specialist interest in Knee surgery. He is passionate about delivering outstanding care that is tailored to each patient's unique needs. Mr Wei began his medical career at the University of St Andrews, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Medicine in 2007. He completed his medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Manchester in 2010. His advanced surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery was undertaken within the prestigious Southwest London training programme, during which he gained extensive clinical and operative experience across a range of acute hospital trusts.
His leadership qualities shone through as he served as President of the British Orthopaedic Trainees Association. To this day, he continues to utilise his leadership experience to drive improvements in the care of his patients. To broaden his skillset after completing his specialist training in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery, Mr Wei moved to Australia to work at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre under the mentorship of Dr David Wood. There, he honed his skills in the treatment of sports knee injuries, with a particular focus on treating elite athletes. On his return to the UK, Mr Wei worked at Frimley Park hospital to further perfect his skills across the breadth of knee surgery.
Since being appointed as a Consultant Knee Surgeon at Kingston Hospital in March 2023, Mr Wei has been dedicated to delivering comprehensive patient education, advanced surgical techniques, and superior patient outcomes. His mission is to help patients maintain their knee function, restore their mobility, and improve their quality of life.
