In 2019, he introduced endoscopic treatment for Zenker Diverticulum in Japan and is now eagerly planning to establish flexible endoscopic treatment for Zenker diverticulum at Harborne Hospital in Birmingham from later in 2024.
Professor Ishaq has contributed significantly to medical guidance as an advisor for NICE interventional procedures and as part of the National clinical advisors to NCEPD: GI bleed study. His extensive publication record includes over 195 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters, and he serves as a reviewer for high-impact scientific journals. He is frequently invited to perform live endoscopy demonstrations and training sessions and serves as regular invited faculty at national and international meetings.
