About

Professor Richard Hindley is a leading Consultant Urologist who takes pride in his patient-focused approach to care. Professor Hindley carries out his private practice alongside leading consultants in the field of Urology at HCA Princess Grace Hospital in London. Using the most recently proven techniques and latest technology, Professor Hindley is able to provide timely and low-risk treatment for a vast array of urological conditions. Known for his commitment to providing his patients with the highest possible quality of care and expert advice, he receives referrals from patients all over England and further afield.

In 1991, Professor Hindley graduated with a medical degree from the University of Dundee. He also completed a masters in Urology at University College London in 1999. He spent his initial surgical training years in Brighton, before undertaking specialist urology training in the South Thames region, which included 2 years spent at King's College Hospital before taking his final exams and venturing to Brisbane, Australia in 2003 to begin a fellowship in laparoscopic urology. In 2004, he was appointed as a consultant at Basingstoke Hospital. Since then, Professor Hindley has made impressive contributions to research in the field of urology, particularly in prostate cancer, and has been dedicated to the improvement of treatments and advances in patient care.

Professor Hindley is also the Director of training in Greenlight Prostate Cancer Vaporisation, a surgical technique which granted him an innovation award from the NHS excellence committee. More recently in 2017, he became the first surgeon to perform REZUM therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia. This innovative minimally invasive procedure uses steam therapy to reduce an enlarged prostate. Professor Hindley has performed over 500 of these procedures and offers them both privately and on as part of his NHS service.
