Mr. Peter Cuckow is a Consultant Paediatric Urologist with a specialization in reconstructive surgery of severe congenital anomalies of the urinary tract, hypospadias, and bladder exstrophy. He qualified in London in 1984, completing surgical training in Cambridge, Leeds, and finally at Great Ormond Street for Children, where he was appointed as a Consultant Paediatric Urologist in 1998. Trained by Presidents of the European Society of Paediatric Urology (ESPU), Mr. Cuckow is the operating surgeon in approximately 120 cases of bladder exstrophy and a strong advocate of the Kelly Operation. He is the author of over 40 peer-reviewed articles on paediatric urology and 15 chapters in major textbooks. His expertise includes paediatric surgery, urology, hypospadias, incontinence, bladder exstrophy, prenatally detected abnormalities of the urinary tract, cloacal anomalies, congenital megaureter, disorders of sexual development, epispadias, hydrocele, hernia, hydronephrosis, neuropathic bladder, posterior urethral valves, PUJ obstruction, undescended testes, and vesico-ureteric reflux.
