About
Professor Justin Clark is a Consultant Gynaecologist, having graduated from Birmingham University Medical School in 1993. His training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology spanned across Leicester, Birmingham, and the West Midlands, culminating in both Membership and Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
With a focus on general gynaecological conditions, Prof Clark has honed his clinical expertise, particularly in managing menstrual disorders, fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, and endometriosis. He possesses advanced skills in both open and 'key-hole' surgery, specializing in hysteroscopic and laparoscopic techniques, as well as gynaecological ultrasound. Prof Clark has been instrumental in pioneering medical and surgical treatments for various conditions, including menstrual disorders, fibroids, endometriosis, and pelvic pain.
A prominent figure in his field, Prof Clark holds esteemed positions such as the President of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and membership on the Advisory Board for the European Society of Gynecological Endoscopy (ESGE). He served as an elected member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) from 2007 to 2013 and has contributed to guidance by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
He boasts an extensive publication record, with over 200 research papers, books, and guidelines to his name, and serves as a Scientific Editor for the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2009. Prof Clark has secured research grants exceeding £6 million and was appointed an Honorary Professor at the University of Birmingham in 2015.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Prof Clark is a family man, married with three daughters and a son. He maintains diverse interests in sports, music, travel, and the arts. A supporter of West Bromwich Albion, he enjoys cycling and walking his dog.
