About
Mr Zaid Awad is London-based Consultant Otolaryngologist, specialising in ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery and head and neck oncology. As well as his full time role as an NHS consultant at Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary's Hospital, Mr Awad has a busy private practice.
After completing specialist surgical training in ENT surgery in London, Mr Awad embarked upon year-long fellowship in Australia, training in advanced head and neck surgery. His training also involved travelling to a number of highly esteemed centres in North America and across Europe, where further enhanced his skills and broadened his knowledge in both ENT and head and neck surgery.
Mr Awad is an expert in treating all kinds of conditions relating to the ear, nose and throat in both adults and children. He is also a specialist in treating head and neck cancer, with a firm understanding of its impact on the life quality of his patients.
Mr Awad has held a number of important roles throughout his career, including President of the Association of Otolaryngologists in Training in the UK from 2013 to 2015, and was also the representative of the North Thames Specialty Training Committee from 2012 to 2014. He was also a dedicated member of the Specialty Advisory Committee in Otolaryngology, the National Selection Committee for Higher Surgical Training, the ENT UK Council, the Joint Committee of Surgical Training simulation work group, as well as the Intercollegiate Examination Board.
He has been widely recognised for his medical excellence and contribution to the field of otolaryntology, having been awarded 22 prizes, published over 60 research articles and being a peer reviewer for international ENT journals.
