Mr Vivek Wadhwa is an experienced Consultant Urologist. His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as prostate cancer, kidney stones, haematuria (blood in the urine), urinary tract infections, erectile dysfunction, and various bladder disorders.
He earned his medical degree with honours from the University of Manchester and undertook his initial training in North West London. His advanced urological training was completed through the West Midlands specialist rotation.
In addition to his private practice, Mr Wadhwa serves within the NHS at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, covering Birmingham Heartlands, Solihull, and Good Hope Hospitals. He provides a range of treatments for benign prostatic enlargement, including TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate), Green Light Laser Prostatectomy, and newer minimally invasive procedures such as UroLift and Rezum steam therapy. His services also encompass comprehensive care for erectile dysfunction, including the use of shockwave therapy.
Mr Wadhwa is actively involved in medical education, teaching students at the University of Manchester and participating in clinical assessments for students at Birmingham Heartlands, Solihull, and Good Hope Hospitals. He has presented his work at both national and international conferences and holds the title of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. His contributions to medicine have been recognised with the David Young Medical Prize.
