About
Vincent Yip is a consultant Hepato-pancreatico-biliary (HPB) and General Surgeon at the Royal London Hospital, Barthealth NHS Trust. He specialises in gallbladder, pancreas and liver surgery. He is also fully competent in performing all general surgical procedures to a high standard.
His major interest focuses on using minimal invasive approach for the treatment of complex HPB diseases, in particularly using the Da Vinci Robot to perform complex HPB procedures. He is currently the robotic HPB lead at the Royal London Hospital.
After graduated in the University of Glasgow in 2000, he undertook his Doctor of Medicine research degree at the University of Edinburgh. His higher surgical training was at the Mersey Deanery from 2006 to 2013, where he was trained by imminent Professor John Neoptolemos in pancreatic surgery and Professor Graeme Poston for liver surgery. To advance his HPB surgical skills, he undertook his post specialist training fellowship at Hong Kong University and King’s College Hospital, London for 2 years in HPB and Liver transplantation, focusing on cancers in cirrhotic liver.
Vincent was a Consultant HPB Surgeon at the largest pancreatic centre at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital before moving down to London in 2018. He was the clinical lead for pancreatic cancer MDT and pancreatic neuroendocrine service until then.
He has published over 30 scientific papers and book chapters, and numerous national/ international presentations. He is the principal investigator in multiple clinical trials for the HPB unit at the Royal London Hospital.
