Antonio Andrade

Mr. Tony Andrade is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, with many years of experience specialising in young adult hip problems, in addition to hip and knee surgery. He sees private patients at the Harley Street Specialist Hospitals.

Mr. Andrade earned his bachelor’s degree in medicine at the University of London in 1990, after which he undertook his specialist surgical training in Wessex, South of England. He also earned the opportunity to undertake a hip and knee surgery fellowship in Adelaide, Australia, where he developed his passion and expertise in hip arthroscopy. He also gained a trauma fellowship in Minneapolis, at the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Upon completion of his training and fellowships, Mr. Andrade was appointed Consultant at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2002 and has since become an expert in hip and knee surgery. Soon after his appointment, Mr. Andrade set up a hip arthroscopy and hip preservation service at the Trust, which later evolved into a tertiary referral center that services many patients in the South West of England. Mr. Andrade is also well known for being a pioneer of hip arthroscopy in the UK and has since continued to make numerous contributions to the surgical techniques often used in the field.
