About
Mr Sachin Malde, Consultant Urological Surgeon, currently works at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital, London. He also works at several private practices around London. He has a wealth of experience in the management of urological problems – bladder disease, urinary symptoms, prostate enlargement, blood in the urine, and chronic UTIs. He is also a specialist in both male and female urinary problems, bladder cancer and neuro-urology.
He began his medical education at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Medical Schools in London in which he graduated with a Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery. He then went on to complete his postgraduate research degree MD(res) examining post-prostatectomy incontinence at University College London. Following this, he started his Higher Specialty Training in Urology on the well-respected South Thames rotation. Afterwards, he undertook a fellowship at University College London.
He is currently on the panel of the European Association of Urology Guideline Panel for benign prostate enlargement and is an expert on the minimally-invasive surgery that can be performed for this condition. This type of surgery can preserve sexual function. He is also one of the only UK surgeons that can perform minimally invasive procedures for tibial nerve and sacral nerve stimulation for bladder issues. He also has oncological interests, especially in the management of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer and can perform blue-light cystoscopy to enable better diagnosis and treatment of these cancers. He also regularly performs outpatient laser treatments for bladder tumours.
Mr Malde has a keen interest in research with a strong publication history in peer-reviewed journals. He has also been invited to speak at several conferences around the world to share his findings. He continues to contribute to medical education by being a tutor and examiner on several accredited national courses. He is also currently a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
