About
Mr Rajesh Kavia is a highly experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon based in London at hospitals within the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.
Mr Kavia graduated from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School in 1999 and achieved multiple distinctions throughout the course of his degree. He then undertook specialist training as part of the North West London Urology Rotation and completed this training with a fellowship at the at University College London Hospital, working in their leading department of female and reconstructive urology.
Mr Kavia is highly proficient in all aspects of general urology. His key area of interest and expertise is in functional urology and incontinence in both males and females. He is well versed in a vast range of pathologies, including diagnosis and management of bladder and prostate problems, including chronic urological pain, Urolift procedure, circumcisions, erectile dysfunction and endoscopic stone management. He is also highly competent in general paediatric urology.
Evidenced by his recent appointment as Clinical Lead for the Trust Transformation Team, Mr Kavia is committed to improving the Urology department at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. He is also the multidisciplinary (MDT) Chair for Functional Urology and a fundamental member of the cancer MDT.
For many years, Mr Kavia has been actively involved in research. Much of his research carried out at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, largely focused on functional brain imaging in urology and neuromodulation, has been published internationally and has granted him a number of internationally recognised awards and prizes. He is also heavily involved in education, being an examiner for higher surgical trainees in London, as well as the Course Director for the North West London Mock FRCS(Urol) viva course.
Outside of work, Mr Kavia thoroughly enjoys spending time with his family, wining and dining and attending the odd West End Musical!
