Mr Jonathan Bernstein is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon in London. In Toronto, Mr Bernstein undertook a 3-year advanced fellowship programme in thyroid/parathyroid surgery, head and neck surgical oncology and reconstructive microsurgery at University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital, one of the three largest such programmes in North America.
From London originally, Jonathan qualified at Bristol in 2002 and joined the surgical rotation at Bristol Royal Infirmary. By 2013, he completed Calman specialist training in ENT in the north west and was granted MD by the University of Manchester for his thesis in translational radiobiology in head and neck cancer for research performed at the Paterson Institute, The Christie and Manchester Royal Infirmary.
He has published and presented internationally on cancer biomarkers, functional MRI, virtual surgical navigation and oncological outcomes, and on other aspects of ENT such as Cochrane and BMJ Clinical Evidence reviews. He teaches medical students and junior doctors, works on the FRCS JCIE question writing group, and enjoyed providing an honorary consultant surgical service to the Gibraltar Health Authority.
