About
Mr Irfan Malik is a highly experienced Consultant Spine Surgeon who has a special interest in spinal neurosurgery. He originally completed his neurosurgical training in Pakistan and continued his advanced training here in the UK at The Royal Hallamshire Hospital and the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire between 2001-2006. After this, he was awarded his FRCS(SN) and continued to build on his experience by completing Fellowships in Complex spine and Epilepsy surgery from the University Hospital Coventry and King’s College Hospital, London.
Mr Malik's interests lie around the diagnosis and management of a wide range of spinal problems from degenerative disease to traumatic and malignant spinal disorders. Mr Malik tackles the conditions from a surgical but also a non-surgical point of view. He is particularly competent at using minimally invasive techniques for surgical procedures such as disk replacement and the treatment of neck pain, back pain and arm pain as well as sciatica. Additionally, he has carried out the most endoscopic spinal surgeries (keyhole surgeries) than any other UK spinal surgeon.
To complement his clinical work, he trains other UK and international surgeons who wish to learn how to complete the procedure. Together with spinal surgery, Mr Malik also takes a keen interest in the treatment of epilepsy at his private practices.
