About
Mr Al Chalabi is an experienced Consultant General Surgeon specialising in colorectal and laparoscopic surgery. He qualified in Medicine from the University of Baghdad in 1999, before moving to Dublin, Ireland where he completed his surgical training. Following this, he undertook advanced training in colorectal conditions at St James Hospital - Dublin and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London.
He has a particular interest in the management of small and large colon diseases, colorectal cancer, and abdominal surgery. He also has extensive experience in performing hernia surgery and keyhole surgery.
Mr Al Chalabi's research includes enhanced recovery to promote effective and rapid rehabilitation and early discharge. He has also undertaken a Master of Surgery (MCh) degree based on research in laparoscopic surgery in general and hernia repair. In addition to his clinical and research work, Mr. Al Chalabi is also a recognised educational trainer, endoscopy trainer, and a faculty member in the laparoscopic training courses in the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
