He is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with a focus on spinal disorders, offering both the latest surgical and non-surgical treatments for a wide range of spinal conditions and neurotrauma.
While many spinal conditions can be managed without surgery, when surgical intervention becomes necessary he prioritises minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques. These approaches are associated with quicker recovery times and lower complication rates. He has learned these advanced techniques from leading experts around the world and frequently collaborates with colleagues across Europe and the United States to share knowledge and clinical experience.
Some spinal conditions are more complex and require a multidisciplinary approach. He believes these cases should be discussed within a team of specialists to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. He works alongside highly skilled colleagues in both the NHS and private sector, regularly collaborating to review challenging cases and develop comprehensive treatment plans. This often involves the use of advanced technologies such as neuro-navigation, neurophysiological monitoring and spinal endoscopy to enhance the safety and precision of surgical procedures.
Alongside his clinical work, he serves as the Director of Neurosurgical Training in his region and is an examiner for the final neurosurgical fellowship examination (FRCS), which is required for trainees pursuing consultant neurosurgical roles in the United Kingdom. He finds this role particularly rewarding and it also enables him to remain closely engaged with the latest developments in his field.
