About
Mr Anil Tailor is a consultant gynaecologist based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey. He also holds private consultations at the BMI The Runnymede Hospital (Chertsey) as well as the Nuffield Health Hospital (Guildford). Mr Tailor specialises in gynaecological oncology, abnormal vaginal bleeding, abnormal smears and colposcopy, and ovarian cyst treatment.
Patients seen by Mr Tailor include those who have been referred by their doctor for suspicion of cancer. During their consultation, these patients are often able to receive both an examination and a pelvic ultrasound during the same appointment, reducing the number of times they need to visit the hospital.
Mr Tailor has extensive expertise in pelvic ultrasound scans and has been carrying out the procedure since 1994. He is also experienced in performing complex surgery and is able to carry out laparoscopic and robotic surgeries including the use of the da Vinci robot for hysterectomies. Mr Tailor was one of the founders of the British and Irish Association of Robotic Gynaecological Surgeons (BIARGS) and has since trained others in robotic surgery.
Mr Tailor is actively involved in research and has published his work on ovarian cysts nationally and internationally.
