Mr Andy Molloy is a Consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery. He treats all foot and ankle disorders; from reconstructive to trauma to sports surgery (both recreational and professional). This includes surgery on bunions (open or minimally invasive surgery), flat feet, big toe arthritis, ankle replacements, ankle ligament surgery and arthritis.

Mr Molloy graduated from University of Leeds in 1996. He completed his surgical and Orthopaedic training on the Mersey rotation. This culminated in him finishing his Foot and Ankle Surgery training with a fellowship with one of the most eminent surgeons in the world, Dr Mark Myerson, in Baltimore USA. He has been a Consultant at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2007

Andy Molloy has a specialist interest in foot and ankle sporting injuries (treating both professional and recreational sportspeople) offering both open and arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery. This in addition to perfoming high volumes of surgery for arthritis (from ankle replacements to big toe fusions). However he also has a passion for joint-sparing re-alignment surgery, to try and avoid fusions and preserve movement.

He has published over 75 original full research papers and 16 book chapters. I have presented over 70 international and 55 national research presentations. They have won 15 national and international research prizes. He received the Roger Mann award in 2008 and 2022; one of a handful of surgeons in the world to receive the prestigious award twice. He is regularly invited to lecture across Europe and USA to learned societies.

Andy Molloy has previously served on the awards committee of AOFAS, the Scientific Committee of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and as the Chair of the Outcomes committee for BOFAS. This included setting up a national foot and ankle surgery registry. He served for over a decade as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool.
