Dr. John-Paul Westwood is a consultant specializing in the management of coagulation problems and haemostasis and thrombosis, including thrombotic microangiopathies (TTP & aHUS), immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), and bleeding disorders. He is also a transfusion consultant and has played a key role in the UCLH Haemophilia Centre. Dr. Westwood completed an MD at UCL, where he investigated the role of complement in various disorders, including TTP. His clinical expertise includes anticoagulation, bleeding disorders, blood diseases, clinical trials in non-malignant haematology, general haematology, haemolytic anaemia, iron deficiency anaemia, venous thrombosis including DVT/PE, and immune thrombocytopenia (ITP).
