About

Mr Hassan Elhassan is a London-based Sinus Surgery and Nose specialist who offers treatments for sinusitis, nasal polyps, deviated septum, blocked noses, and breathing problems. He has received specialized training in endoscopic sinus surgery and revision sinus surgery, and septal perforation closure from top centers of sinus surgery excellence worldwide. Mr Elhassan is also experienced in providing treatment for general Ear, Nose, and Throat surgery conditions for both adults and children.

In 2005, Mr Elhassan earned his primary qualification in Medicine from Barts and The London, University of London, followed by Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2015. In 2016, he obtained the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training – Otorhinolaryngology from the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom.

Mr Elhassan is currently serving as a Consultant Surgeon in Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust and has private practice privileges in London. He is also an advocate for surgical efficiency and management and has introduced several quality improvement initiatives in multiple hospital departments. He was appointed Deputy Clinical Director for ENT in the London region and contributed to the design of the High Volume Low Capacity ENT pathways to help reduce the COVID backlog.

Mr Elhassan is interested in bench to bedside research and has a BSc in experimental pathology, which enables him to supervise medical students and junior doctors. He is a proponent of surgical innovation and technology, as well as Evidence-Based Medicine, and has published several articles on these topics in leading journals. Mr Elhassan is also an experienced clinical teacher who has chaired the Junior branch of the Association for the Study of Medical Education and has organized a national conference on medical education. He has convened the first cadaveric sinus surgery dissection course in Wales and received University colors for his work on the undergraduate curriculum.
