Dr Grisham Smotra is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, with over two decades of clinical expertise. Her areas of focus include menstrual irregularities, complications in early pregnancy, menopausal and perimenopausal health, ovarian cysts and chronic pelvic pain. She is skilled in both open and minimally invasive techniques, and runs a specialised one-stop clinic for procedures such as hysteroscopy, post-menopausal bleeding and early pregnancy care.
Dr Smotra is committed to empowering women to take an active role in their healthcare decisions. She offers comprehensive support throughout the treatment process, performing a wide range of diagnostic and outpatient procedures including cervical smears, endometrial biopsies, ultrasounds, coil insertions and removals, treatment of submucous fibroids, endometrial ablation, and the use of Word catheters for Bartholin’s cysts and abscesses.
In her NHS role, Dr. Smotra leads the early pregnancy and acute gynaecology services at Walsall Hospital NHS Trust, where she also maintains a dedicated clinical practice. She graduated from Jammu University in 2003 and completed her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology across several prominent hospitals in the West Midlands, gaining extensive experience in both emergency and routine gynaecological care.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr Smotra is an accredited trainer and examiner, actively involved in the professional development of future specialists. She serves on the annual appraisal panel for obstetrics and gynaecology trainees and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications. Her research has been presented at both national and international conferences. She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, reflecting her respected standing in the field.
