Professor Emmanouil Tsochatzis is a Professor of Hepatology and Honorary Consultant at the UCL Institute for Liver and Digestive Health and Head of the Centre for Metabolic Liver Diseases. He leads the specialist multidisciplinary service in NAFLD and has an active research program focusing on NAFLD, non-invasive fibrosis assessment, cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and metabolic liver diseases (including Wilson's disease and haemochromatosis). Professor Tsochatzis completed his specialty training and PhD in Greece before moving to the UK for post-doc research. He has been a consultant hepatologist and clinical academic since 2014, sitting on national and international clinical guideline committees and serving as a specialist advisor to NICE. He has received funding for his research from NIHR, EASL, and EU Horizon 2020, resulting in more than 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
