Rob Stevenson graduated from Leicester-Warwick Medical School in 2005 and became a General Medicine practitioner in 2008. His career path led him to a Fellowship in Clinical Oncology in 2013, with training in the West Midlands. Specialising in uro-oncology and lung cancer, he joined Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist in 2014. Rob was a pioneer in introducing Stereotactic Radiotherapy for early-stage lung cancer and concurrent radiotherapy for stage 3 lung cancer.
A GMC-accredited trainer, he teaches at the University of Birmingham and leads research, including national clinical trials. Rob served as the Radiotherapy Lead for the West Midlands from 2019 to 2024 and is currently the Lung Cancer Lead at University Hospitals Birmingham.
