About
Rachael Hough is a Consultant in Haematology and Stem Cell Transplantation and an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Haematology/Transplantation. After completing undergraduate training at Nottingham University in 1992, she undertook postgraduate general medical and haematology training in Sheffield. She was awarded a 2-year fellowship in the transplantation of umbilical cord blood, gaining specific experience in managing paediatric and adolescent patients. She is now the Clinical Lead of the largest teenage cancer service in the UK and has developed an adolescent-focused transplant service. She chairs the BSBMT Umbilical Cord Blood Working Group and is the Chief Investigator of two NCRI-badged national cord blood transplant protocols. Her expertise includes leukaemia, acute lymphoblastic (ALL), and haematological stem cell transplantation (HSCT, BMT) in young people.
