Dr. Raj graduated with distinction from Seth GS Medical College Mumbai in 1993 and completed post-graduation in General Medicine at LTM Medical College in 1996. She passed the MRCP UK in 1996 and then specialised in Haematology, training in South East London at Guys and St Thomas' and Kings College Hospitals. She was awarded an FRCPath in 2007 and CCST in 2007.
Dr. Raj conducted doctoral research on Myelodysplastic syndromes under a Medical Research Council Fellowship and was awarded her PhD in 2009 for her work on The role of p15INK4B in MDS. She was appointed a Consultant Haematologist in Stem Cell Transplantation in 2007 and has since worked extensively in this field. She is the lead investigator for the UK haplo trial and has been instrumental in the use of ECP for acute GVHD. She is the principal investigator for the national AML 18,19 trials. Dr. Raj has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London. Her expertise includes MDS, AML, and stem cell transplantation.
