Dr Chan sees patients with a wide range of neurological symptoms, and he has developed expertise in the management of neurological conditions including Headache, Migraine, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuropathy, and Parkinson's disease.

In addition to his general neurological expertise, he has a sub-speciality interest in Cognitive Disorders and routinely sees and treats patients who suffer from Dementia or other causes of cognitive impairment.

In 2015, he established the Cognitive Neurology Service in Kent which provides a state-of-the-art diagnostic service for people with Young Onset Dementia and atypical forms of dementia. In recognition of the work he has done to create and develop this service, he was awarded a Clinical Excellence Award in 2018. He also belongs to the Kent Young-Onset Dementia Network and has collaborated closely with the Alzheimer's Society and other local dementia charities.

In 2024, he led a team at London Bridge Hospital in establishing the treatment and monitoring pathways for the use of Amyloid Targeting Therapies, such as Lecanemab and Donanemab, for patients with early stage Alzheimer's Disease.

Dr Chan graduated from Barts and The London Medical School in 2004 with prizes for outstanding academic achievement, and he was awarded honours for a sub-internship in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in America. Following this, he completed his General Medical Training in London and went on to obtain distinction for his master's degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology at UCL where he conducted scientific research exploring neural mechanisms underlying memory and emotion.

His specialist neurology training took place at a number of prestigious institutions in Central London including The Royal London Hospital, King's College Hospital, University College London Hospital and the renowned National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Queen Square.
