Dr. Powrie is a leading specialist in diabetes and endocrinology with extensive experience gained from working at top-level institutions. He has a wealth of experience in the highly acclaimed diabetes and endocrine unit, where he served as head for over 17 years. His initial medical training was in Scotland at the University of Aberdeen, and he completed his specialist training and a Doctorate degree at St Thomas' in London. Dr. Powrie was appointed a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology in 1997 and shortly thereafter became head of the Department. He has made numerous innovative changes and advances in care, ensuring that the service remained at the forefront of patient treatment and clinical research. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles and has led international research projects. He is a member of many learned societies, including the Society for Endocrinology (UK), The Endocrine Society (USA), and Diabetes UK. Dr. Powrie practices specialist endocrinology and diabetes, dealing with thyroid conditions, thyroid cancer, pituitary disorders, adrenal disease, calcium disorders, endocrine disorders of the testes and ovaries, and diabetes mellitus. He is also experienced in providing medicolegal reports and expert evidence in court.
