About

Dr. Howard Marshall is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders. He graduated from the University of Leeds with an MB ChB in 1988 and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1992.

Since his appointment as a Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2000, Dr. Marshall has played a central role in advancing cardiac services within the region. He established the hospital’s pacing and defibrillator programme, now the largest in the area, and co-developed one of the UK’s leading atrial fibrillation ablation centres.

Dr. Marshall’s clinical practice covers the full spectrum of cardiac rhythm management, including catheter ablation for all types of tachycardia, atrial fibrillation ablation, cardiac catheterisation, angioplasty, and stent procedures. His broader interests include arrhythmias, heart failure, pacemaker therapy, and valve disease.

Alongside his clinical work, he actively publishes research in cardiac electrophysiology. Beyond medicine, he enjoys classical music, fell walking, and scuba diving.
