Professor Daniel Leff is a Consultant in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery and a Reader in Breast Surgery. Daniel completed his undergraduate training at Imperial School of Medicine (St Mary's), qualifying in 2000. He then trained in oncoplastic breast surgery at several centres of excellence, including Imperial College and the Royal Marsden. He completed advanced training as a National Oncoplastic Fellow at Broomfield and the St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery in Chelmsford, Essex. Professor Leff holds a Master of Surgery degree in oncoplastic breast surgery with first-class distinction and was awarded the Isaac Gukas Medal for outstanding achievement in breast surgery in 2016.
He also received the British Association of Surgery Ronald Raven Travelling Award to visit and learn from colleagues at the MD Anderson Cancer Centre in the US. Recently, he was competitively selected for the highly prestigious fellowship of the James IV Association of Surgeon, an award reserved for pioneers in surgery. Professor Leff's main research interest relates to developing margin assessment technologies to reduce rates of re-operative breast surgery. He and his team have won national and international recognition for their ground-breaking research, including receiving numerous research prizes at national and international conferences.
