Dr Ben Huntley is a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia with extensive experience in managing complex acute and chronic pain conditions. He holds an NHS post at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trustand also sees patients in private practice across London.
He graduated MB ChB from the University of Birmingham in 2001 and was awarded the Arthur Thompson Special Prize in recognition of his research achievements. He completed specialist training in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at the Bristol School of Anaesthesia, developing advanced skills in both procedural and multidisciplinary pain management.
Dr Huntley has particular expertise in treating whiplash injuries, lower back and neck pain, as well as neuropathic and post-surgical pain, including pain related to cancer. His interventional practice includes procedures such as facet joint injections, delivered as part of a comprehensive, individualised treatment plan.
He has also gained valuable experience in palliative care, helping to establish referral pathways for patients requiring interventional techniques to manage complex cancer pain. Working within multidisciplinary teams, including collaboration with haematology specialists, he contributes to coordinated care strategies for patients with challenging pain conditions, including those associated with sickle cell disease.
