Arjun K Ghosh

Professor Arjun K. Ghosh is a Professor of Cardiology at Queen Mary University of London and Consultant Cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre and University College Hospital. He is the first consultant cardiologist in the UK to be appointed specifically in cardio-oncology and is a recognised world expert in the field having published over 100 peer-reviewed works. Specialising in the compassionate care of cancer patients experiencing heart problems (cardio-oncology), he established cardiac services for cancer patients, which has become one of the largest services in the UK.

He completed his training at prestigious hospitals, including Hammersmith and Harefield Hospitals, The Heart Hospital, and London Chest Hospital.

He completed his MSc in Medical Education with Distinction from University College London and the Royal College of Physicians and is responsible for training cardiology trainees in North East and Central London. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Higher Education Academy, American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology and International Cardio-Oncology Society. He has also been awarded the NHS's top Clinical Impact Award.

Professor Ghosh's passion for research is evident in his projects in Cardio-Oncology, and he achieved a PhD from Imperial College London. He is regularly asked to talk about his work internationally and has also done this at the UK Houses of Parliament.

Alongside Cardio-Oncology, Professor Ghosh is an expert in general cardiology issues such as heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, heart valve problems, inherited cardiac conditions, palpitations, dizziness, cardiomyopathy, high blood pressure, non-invasive heart imaging, unstable angina, atherosclerosis, chest pain, loss of consciousness, angina, arrhythmia, bradycardia, coronary artery disease, heart rhythm, valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, heart attack, and tachycardia.
