About

.Mr David James Davies is a Consultant Neurosurgeon specialising in head injury, trauma, concussion and cranial reconstruction and aesthetics along with tumours of the brain and disorders of CSF circulation. He is also a leading expert in the management of concussion/ sports and occupation concussions and is a member of the recently formed national MDT panel on concussion.

Qualifying as a doctor in 2006, Mr Davies trained as a Neurosurgeon in the West Midlands and undertook an NIHR led fellowship in trauma and reconstruction and held an NIHR Lectureship in Neurosurgery from 2016-2020. Over the course of his career, Mr Davies has been awarded multiple prizes for his work and research and has published circa 100 papers. A trip to see a Neurosurgeon can be an upsetting and frightening prospect and Mr Davies places a high priority on listening and ensuring that the patient experience is tailored to the individual. This is clearly demonstrated on the Channel 5 series, Surgeons a Matter of Life and Death, where Mr Davies has recently featured.
