In 2020, Dr Singanayagam wasawarded a prestigious Clinician Scientist Fellowship from the Medical Research Council. This allowed him to establish an independent research group alongside working clinically as a respiratory consultant.
Dr Singanayagam has published over 100 papers on airways diseases (asthma and COPD), lung infections and post-COVID lung disease. He provides supervision for MSc and PhD students (clinical and non-clinical) completing research.
