Dr Ammar is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist and Heart Rhythm Specialist at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and an Honorary Consultant at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. He has extensive expertise in adult cardiology, with a particular focus on heart rhythm disorders.
He completed his cardiology training at Ain Shams University Hospitals in Egypt, obtaining a Master’s degree in 2013 and a PhD in 2017, before moving to the UK in late 2017. He then undertook advanced fellowship training in electrophysiology and cardiac pacing at East Sussex NHS Trust and Barts Heart Centre, gaining full national and international accreditation in both subspecialties.
In recognition of his contributions to the field of cardiology, Dr Ammar was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2023 and Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology in 2024.
Dr Ammar is widely respected for his deep knowledge, careful attention to detail, and ability to explain complex treatments clearly. Known as a caring physician, he listens attentively to his patients, ensuring they feel supported and fully involved in their treatment decisions.
He manages a broad range of cardiac conditions and is a highly skilled operator in device implantation procedures—including permanent pacemakers, biventricular pacemakers, conduction system pacing, and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators—as well as catheter ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, and premature ventricular contractions, using the latest technologies.
