Dr Vinod Mullassery is a London-based consultant clinical oncologist who specialises in the management Prostate and Bladder cancers at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and the Prostate Centre, Harley Street. He treats patients with radiotherapy, chemotherapy and hormones. Dr Mullassery is the brachytherapy lead at the hospital and also implemented the image-guided interstitial brachytherapy programme for cervical cancer.
Dr Mullassery gained his MD in 1999 and continued training in oncology at the University College Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, where he later undertook a post-CCT fellowship in modern radiotherapy techniques. In 2013, he was awarded the prestigious American Brachytherapy Society HDR Scholarship Award. He has been visiting Brachytherapy Fellow at University of Leuven, Belgium and at University of California, Los Angeles. Dr Mullassery is actively involved in teaching and has previously held the post of Royal College Tutor and Post Graduate Faculty Lead at Guys Hospital. He was also the Deputy Firm Head for the GKT Medical School. He is also involved in research and is a Principal Investigator on a number of clinical trials. His areas of interest includes use of modern radiotherapy techniques for prostate cancer and oligometastatic disease.
