Dr Mary McCormack is an experienced Clinical Oncologist. She specialises in gynaecological and breast cancers, including all subtypes of gynaecological cancers such as womb, cervix, uterus, ovary, vagina and vulva. She has sub-specialist interests in cervical cancer treatments and targeted treatments for breast, endometrial and ovarian cancer. Dr McCormack provides treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted/biological therapy and brachytherapy.
She completed her medical degree at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. In 1989 she was awarded a PhD for her research in radiation biology, and in 2000 she achieved the FRCR qualification in Clinical Oncology. Dr McCormack took up a consultant post in 2002 at University College London Hospital.
Dr McCormack has made considerable contributions to clinical trials both nationally and internationally, and she is the Chief Investigator for many ongoing studies. Currently, she is the Chair of the Cervical Cancer Research Network (CCRN), an executive member of the Gynaecologic Cancer Intergroup, and a member of the International Gynaecologic Cancer Society’s education committee. Additionally, she is on the International Affairs Committee for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
