Mr. Peng Tan is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon who graduated in Medicine (MBBS/MSc) from Imperial College in 1995. He completed his Basic Surgical Training Programmes in Cambridge and London, leading to an MRCS Diploma. He then undertook an MRC (UK) Fellowship, conducting research into the genetic manipulation of immune and vascular cells, earning PhD and MD degrees from the University of London. Following this, he became a Lecturer in Surgery at Oxford University and completed his Higher Surgical Training Programmes with the Oxford School of Surgery. He established a research programme on the development of a vaccine for breast cancer. Mr. Tan completed further sub-speciality training in Oncoplastic Surgery and General Surgery. His work has been recognized by the British Transplantation Society and the International Transplantation Society, receiving multiple awards, including the Roy Calne Young Investigator's Award and the Syme Medal from The Royal College of Surgeons. His expertise includes breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, breast lump investigation and removal, breast reconstruction, implant reconstruction, mastectomy, nipple reconstruction, oncoplastic surgery, and single-dose intraoperative radiotherapy (SD-IORT) for early-stage breast cancer.
