About

Mr Keith Britton is a Consultant Physician specialising in Nuclear Medicine, with an international reputation for his contributions to infection imaging and cancer-related radionuclide research. His work includes the invention of a radioactive antibiotic for infection imaging, as well as extensive research into radionuclide measurement and the diagnosis and treatment of cancer using radionuclides.

He qualified from the University of Cambridge in 1963 and subsequently completed specialist training in Nuclear Medicine. In 1976, Mr Britton was appointed as a Consultant Physician at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and in 1993 he became Professor of Nuclear Medicine. He later served for several years as Director of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund Nuclear Medicine Group, now known as Cancer Research.

Mr Britton is the co-founder and former president of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine and is also a member of the British Nuclear Medicine Society. His professional focus includes infection imaging, positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, cancer research, and Nuclear Medicine.
