Important information
What happens when you call?
1. On phoning the UCC, you will have an initial assessment by one of our clinicians to ensure you are suitable for treatment.
2. If your condition can be safely managed by virtual consultation we will offer you this route.
3. Based on your diagnosis by virtual consultation, you will be quickly referred to a specialist consultant for further care.
4. If your condition is assessed as ‘being out of the scope’ of what UCC can provide via virtual consultation, you may be advised to attend your local emergency department or seek treatment via the NHS.

St John's Wood Urgent Care Centre is located just off Wellington Road. Metered parking is available on the street. Q-Park on Kingsmill Terrace is a short walk from the hospital, tickets for discounted parking are held at the main Urgent Care Reception which will entitle you to 15% discount. Further parking is available on Lanark Road in Maida Vale (10 min walk).
What we can treat
We are able to treat a wide range of minor illness and injuries including:
- Minor non-respiratory illness
- Simple Wound care and dressings
- Conjunctivitis
- Minor head injuries
- Repeat prescriptions
- Earache and minor ENT conditions
- Abdominal complaints
- Musculoskeletal injuries and minor trauma
Our expert team can provide quick onwards referral to specialist private consultants and on-site diagnostic imaging (X-Ray). Other imaging diagnostics (Ultrasound, CT, MRI) could also be arranged following specialist private consultant referral. Blood tests and laboratory services are also available. We offer a range of Point of Care diagnostic tests on site providing rapid access to results and treatment.
What we DO NOT treat
- Symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g. Cough, sore throat, fever)
- Acute confusion
- Signs of acute heart attack or stroke
- Dental problems
- Major trauma, vascular or nerve injuries
- Head injuries
- Acute or severe stomach pain
- Severe pain
- Acute urinary retention
- Those under 18 years
- Pregnancy over 20 weeks or bleeding during Pregnancy (any term)
- Mental Health conditions
Please note that we do not carry out COVID-19 testing or Antibody testing.
