Physiotherapy for gynaecological conditions, as well as bladder, bowel and pelvic conditions, including conditions related to the menopause.
Many women experience gynaecological issues at some point. Physio can make you feel confident and in control again by helping to rebuild the strength of your pelvic floor and core muscles, improve your posture and relieve pelvic and back pain. Our women's health physiotherapists treat all gynaecological, pelvic, bowel, antenatal and postnatal conditions; from stress incontinence to rehabilitation after a hysterectomy.
We run an outpatient service and we also treat women who are inpatients. What happens during your physio depends on your condition. However, it usually involves a consultation and an examination of your pelvic floor followed by a series of sessions which could include massage, postural and movement analyses, and exercises. You'll also be given exercises to do at home.
At each HCA UK facility we have teams of physiotherapists who are experienced in supporting women after gynaecological or urological treatment, or during stages of pregnancy, including post pregnancy.
Physiotherapy may be given at the inpatient stage, or you may be given a series of sessions as an outpatient.
