Your guide to hip conditions and treatment

Whether we're walking, sitting or driving, our hips are key to movement and support. That means they come under a huge amount of strain, which can cause stiffness and pain.

When we feel that happen in either one or both of our hip joints, the natural reaction is to avoid using the hip as much. However, this lack of movement can cause the hip to become weaker. As the joint deteriorates, the rest of your body's load is often transferred to the lower back, knee, or the other hip, leading to pain in these areas as well.
